Lifetime's Aaliyah Biopic Airing in November

Despite numerous setbacks and controversies, the Aaliyah biopic Aaliyah: Princess of R&B will finally air on Lifetime. Via the network’s official twitter, Lifetime announced the project’s arrival, tweeting, “She was the princess of R&B and now her story is being told. #AaliyahMovie premieres Saturday, November 15.” Nickelodeon’s House of Anubis actress Alexandra Shipp portrays the legendary R&B star in the upcoming film, while the film’s basis comes from former Time editor Christopher’s Farley’s book Aaliyah: More Than a Woman.
