iLoveMakonnen Records Indie Music with High School Band Sea Ghost

This new collaboration featuring artist-of-the-moment iLoveMakonnen is definitely a left-of-center move from a member of OVO’s roster. According to The FADER, who broke the story and have a magazine feature on iLoveMakonnen on the way, Makonnen was so impressed by the songs emailed to him by high school band Sea Ghost he drove out to Marietta, GA to work with the group. Though the band isn’t even old enough to buy cigarettes yet, OVO’s newest signee chose to work with the group on a song entitled “Running Away.” The result: Makonnen laced the group with his now-signature warbled croon, in turn giving them easily their strongest offering to date.
