A newcomer as a solo artist, but no stranger to the music scene, Espa has well and truly landed with the release of “Apartment 2F”. A track as ethereal as it is real, Espa has managed to incorporate the harsh realities of life, within a song of imagination and dreams. Having worked previously with long-time friends and collaborators Flatbush Zombies, Espa has enlisted the expertise of Erick Arc Elliot, producer and member of the Hip Hop group on this track. The haunting melody and soaring beats are both eloquent and hip, all at once.
Taken from her forthcoming EP 150th & Broadway, this track is the start of a very promising career for this young female artist. Espa vows: “one of the most important things I’ve learned is that a lot of the time, it’s good to go against what you are told to do.” A strong character, ESPA promises music that evokes this sentiment; breaking boundaries. “I left the inner child back at home”, a line which speaks the truth; and tells of the strictly personal lyricism we encounter from Espa. Take a listen above.
