Luxury car-tuner Brabus teams with Mercedes-Benz once again to apply its unique customizations to the GLA-Class crossover. Expected to hit American showrooms later this year, we recently delivered a behind-the-scenes look at this 5-door wagon – seen here – after the German automaker invited us to its advanced research and development facilities in Southern California. As for the Brabus upgrade, the Californian tuner enhances the performance of the GLA45 AMG’s already impressive engine by raising its horsepower output from 355 to 394 as well as its torque from 332 pound-feet to 369, thus reaching 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 168 mph. For those that are a bit more economical however, Brabus offers a performance upgrade kit for the GLA220 CDI as well. Furthermore, buyers will have the opportunity to raise or lower the stock suspension, add a body kit, attach a real spoiler, and much more.
