Tyler the Creator, Nick Cave, Katy Perry, Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, “Weird Al” Yankovic and Danny Elfman have teamed up together for the benefit LP The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell. The project has been put together by Mark Ryden, who also created Tyler’s Wolf artwork as well as covers for Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more. As The Hollywood Reporter points out, all artists perform their version of the song “Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two),” which was written by Harry Dacre in 1892. The album has been released as part of his new exhibit “The Gay 90s,” which opened today at Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles. The LP is out today and available as a 180-gram red vinyl in a pressing of 999 for $99.99. Half of the LPs have been made available at the gallery, while the other half will be sold online via Ryden’s website on May 13. All proceeds go to Little Kids Rock.
