Behind the Design: Alter of Young & Reckless

Young & Reckless introduces the architect behind its visual overhaul, its new Men’s Senior Designer, John “Alter” Lawlor. A native of Chicago, Alter began his artistic career tagging streets around his hometown before making his way into the world of apparel design. Since coming on board with Y&R, his main focus this past year has been shifting the brand’s image to align with its fresh new range of offerings that have emerged recently. Here Alter discusses his transition from graffiti into fashion design, the state of clothing design in 2014, and the feeling of creating something great.
