Painting "Paradise" with INSA and ROID at POW! WOW! Hawaii 2014

If there is a paradise on Earth, surely the Hawaiian isles fit many people’s definitions. The state is an ideal getaway from northern cities in the dead of February; the kind of place that revitalizes the creativity that winter somehow hushes dormant. Two South London artists – INSA and ROID – ventured down to Honolulu for POW! WOW! Hawaii 2014, contributing work to the city-wide art gathering. Inspired by experiencing their vision of paradise in physical life, the two collaborated on a wildly colorful zagging mural that pairs ROID’s vintage aesthetics with INSA’s obsessively geometric line work. The above video gives a small account of their design process, while INSA provides grounding and humble words on how the POW! WOW! experience shaped his latest work.
