Samsung Galaxy has joined forces with Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind and introduced a new online platform, ADD52, and it is dedicated to granting exposure to upcoming and unsigned artists. Named ADD52 in recognition of Simmons’ and Rifkind’s All Def Digital company and the 52-week duration of the project, the project will highlight one single and music video from an unsigned artists on a weekly basis for a year.
Aimed to grant unsigned artists exposure as well as increase the chances of them obtaining a record deal, ADD52.com will work as a sort of digital scout, allowing artists to submit projects for consideration and then applying a “digital talent scout” algorithm that studies engagement, views, social activity and more accordingly. Artists who are selected for the project will be featured on Samsung’s ad-free Milk Music radio service, as well as become eligible for noted advantages including introductions to industry professionals, music video production, studio access, funds and more.
