Theophilus London is preparing to release his upcoming album, VIBES!, and after sharing a preview of his single “Do Girls” earlier this week, fans can now enjoy a full track, which he’s titled “Take A Look.” London spoke with Style.com about the inspiration behind the new single, and went on to share the following:
In late November, Kanye sent me a folder of music to inspire me, with a bunch of really obscure oldies. ["Take a Look"] is an interpretation of another song that came out in, like, 1981, by a group called Martin Dupont from Marseille, France. I was working on my new album, and Kanye said, ‘You should cover or reinterpret some very obscure songs, with their melodies and with your bass lines.’
In addition to his sophomore LP, London will be releasing his Lovers Holiday II EP on February 12, but until then, enjoy the new song up above and be sure to grab the free download while you’re at it.
