Though much was said about a Wu-Tang Clan-assisted remix to Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same track, “Wu-Tang Forever,” nothing ever seemed to come into fruition. The listening public wasn’t treated to hearing Wu-Tang bars over beats made for Drake, and news of the remix just seemed to fade away from headlines. Now, in an interview with MTV, members of the Wu explain why. According to RZA, the “energy wasn’t 100% up to par,” while U-God says they “came too hard for him.” U-God states that Drake wanted them to “talk about broads” and at the time they weren’t in that “broad mode” and more on the hardcore side of hip-hop. U-God also noted that the timing wasn’t quite right, and the sessions were somewhat rushed. Still, Wu-Tang seem to have nothing but positive things to say about Drake. You can watch members of the Wu-Tang explain the absence of the “Wu-Tang Forever” remix in the clip above.
