The Criteria of Buying the Ferrari LaFerrari Supercar

The realm of supercar shopping is a world removed from your normal run-of-the-mill cars for many reasons, but with the Ferrari LaFerrari, it is not the buyer who chooses Ferrari, but Ferrari who selectively allows the buyer to make a purchase. WIRED discovered this in a recent feature on one such buyer – Croatian-born internet securities magnate Robert Herjavec – who said that overwhelming wealth is not a given for being able to buy one of 499 LaFerraris to ever be produced. While Ferrari did not give a definite answer on the selection criteria, Herjavec recounts that in addition to owning at least five Ferraris, one must be recommended to Ferrari by individual dealers, where the higher-ups then make the final pick. In this way, Ferrari ensures that the LaFerrari ends up ultimately in the hands of ardent fans of the car brand, who will admire it for the work of art that it is. For more details, read the full feature at WIRED.
