Balancing style and functionality, Copenhagen-based WOOD WOOD presents the lookbook for its forthcoming Spring/Summer 2014 “Utopia” collection. Exhibition inspiration from the historical fractures of the French revolution – a theme echoed by modern unrest across Europe – the range looks to the possibilities of the future with a clash of modernism and classicism. Juxtaposing prints, contrasting materials, and unorthodox cut-lines dominate the range as influences from Paris’s architectural history and the likes of Le Corbusier make themselves apparent throughout: varieties of pyrite-, marble-, stone- and terrazzo-like patterns, as well as pinstripe motifs, adorn everything from shirts and M65 jackets to wool suiting in hues of blue, white, creme, navy, mint and sand. WOOD WOOD’s “Utopia” release for Spring/Summer 2014 is set to be available via the label’s own online store later this month.
