Designed at the hand of Jun Takahashi, UNDERCOVER‘s women’s series of apparel for the upcoming 2014 spring season takes inspiration from social conflicts of the smartphone era while borrowing stylistic influence from female post-punk fashion, particularly that of all-girl band Savages. Composed primarily of black and white, the collection features slight red and gold accents and mesh detailing, while blending streetwear silhouettes with distinctly feminine pieces. Also tackling social parallels through the use of embellished anagram motifs, such as “Silent” converting to “Listen” or “Snug” to “Guns,” the collection further broke conventions with the LED slogan T-shirts, designed to reflect the use of street fashion almost as a billboard.
