One of the most prolific artists of the 20th century, Jean-Michel Basquiat first made his name via the graffiti moniker SAMO. Subsequent years to come, Basquiat took the art world with his iconic handwritten style that often tempered with dualities like integration versus segregation, and wealth versus poverty. For 2013 fall/winter, Supreme teams up with the Basquiat Estate in presenting a collection highlighting the late great artist’s artwork and legacy. Here, M-65 jackets and button-up shirts sees bold iterations with nods at 1982’s Cassius Clay painting, while hoodies and T-shirts feature portraits of Basquiat. The collection will unveil in-store in NY, LA, London and online on September 26, and Japan from September 28.
