Last week we began an initial look into the PROCESS of creating one of Reigning Champ‘s signature fleece pieces. From the original Concept & Sketching, we move into the factory this week where the garment begins to take shape. Initially, the fabric is cut into large sheets in which a pattern is laid over top for cutting. Post-cutting, the next step involves combining the various pieces as they’re sewn together, the seams flatlocked, pockets serged, and finally finished with some of Reigning Champ’s hardware and trims. Once the sample has been completed, the final piece is measured meticulously to ensure it’s up to spec as final fit adjustments are fine-tuned to create the perfect product. These final prototypes serve their role in selling (such as trade shows), photo shoots, and of course as a template for the full production run. Some fans of both Reigning Champ and its older brother wings + horns may recognize the aesthetic of the material front and center… stay tuned for the full details.
