Leica‘s latest offering, the Leica C Type 112, is designed by Audi and closely related to the Panasonic Lumix LF1. Housed in this sleek, chic metallic body are respectable specs – a high-performance Leica DC Vario-Summicron f/2-5.9/6-42.8mm ASPH zoom lens (28-200mm equivalent, 7x optical zoom), an exceptionally large 12.1MP 1/1.7″ sensor for its class, EVF (electronic viewfinder), and built-in WiFi/NFC connectivity. This range makes it a versatile piece across scenarios, from portraits to landscapes. The surprisingly quick autofocus and continuous-shooting mode make it a great tool for capturing pinpoint detail, while the LCD viewfinder gives the serious photographer a traditional feel. Release is scheduled for mid-September at a list price of $699 USD, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is nicely included in each deal.
