With the prevalence of executed themes across sneakers these days, it should by now be understood that there’s something artistic about footwear silhouettes. Jack Stocker most recently reinforced this through his “Minimalist Sneaker Study” exhibition, where he created geometric, minimalist iterations of his favorite Air Max shoes. Still not yet out of his teenage years, Stocker is still in that enviable period of unpolluted creativity, needing little more than a page and paper to express his art. This is best seen in his essential items: a pen, a pad, and two cameras represent the true outlets for creation, while a pair of classic Air Max 90’s are both the inspiration and the vehicle.
