With their third studio album set to arrive later this month, this week Crystal Stilts of New York have let loose a new visual for their single, “Star Crawl.” With the project being titled Nature Noir, the coinciding clip for the on-hand audio adheres to said theme, featuring various shots of nature and wildlife. To get a take on the visual from the Brooklyn band, simply see the below statement.
We took off one morning to go capture random sweeping scenes. Rivers and valleys, trees and ponds … in a word, nature. I guess the album has that feel as opposed to the earliest Crystal Stilts material, which could refer to the cities, the subways, thoughts and frustrations that are kept inside oneself. This song is perhaps about doing grandiose things, but knowing it’s not in you. The long sweeping shots of the Hudson Valley, and elsewhere at least somewhat resemble the scale of those claims.
Press play above now to enjoy the colorful clip and then don’t forget about Crystal Stilts’ Nature Noir work, arriving on September 17.
