“DUE TO HACKERS AN ABUNDANCE OF LOW/HIGH QUALITY LEAKS…WE ISSUE THIS POP MUSIC EMERGENCY…MONSTERS SPREAD THE WORD.” That was the message from Lady Gaga herself via Twitter as the pop icon dropped the CDQ version of her latest single, “Applause.” The first track to be released from her forthcoming ARTPOP, “Applause” – written during 2012’s ‘The Born This Way Ball Tour’ – harkens a return to form for Gaga as she sings over a catchy DJ White Shadow-produced beat. “Applause” is expected to be the subject of Gaga’s upcoming performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards while ARTPOP, her highly-anticipated third studio LP, is due out November 11 via Interscope.
