In a traditional hip-hop romantic of ‘old meets new,’ adidas Originals has brought together Run-D.M.C. and A-Trak as a part of their Unite All Originals campaign. Aside from the artists’ different contexts, the campaign makes sense. Run-D.M.C. has a longstanding relationship with adidas following the release of a certain 1986 single, that which helped bring hip-hop into popularity, while A-Trak has played an integral role in meshing rap with electronic music. The two parties have been certified ‘original’ by adidas, who is cooking up a special project involving both.
