Following last night’s listening event, which recruited some familiar players in New York’s underground rap scene, was the perfect forum for T-Bruin to unveil his most recent project: The Big Bruinski. Born in Atlanta, conditioned by New York City, the rapper conflates a smooth, sometimes drawled flow with smart alliteration so frequently found in boom-bap observers. Co-produced by Bruin himself in conjunction with Harlem’s emerging Bleu Dope collective, The Big Bruinski is a stark introduction to the burgeoning rapper.
