Started in spring 2012, Uniform Journal documents the evolving personal style of Roderick Hunt who, perceiving a void in the world of men’s fashion blogging, chose to create a simplified means to showcase style. Currently in the employ of American lifestyle retailer Steven Alan, he also manages the brand’s newest Los Angeles outlet on La Brea, and is no stranger to Levi’s & Undefeated, having done work for them in the past. Decidedly reminiscent of classic menswear and Americana with updates from streetwear culture, Roderick’s belongings reflect his stylish but tidy Southern California way of life. With most of his Essentials being just that, essential, Roderick believes in the importance of building a wardrobe around staple pieces that personally define you. For him, these include his pair of COMME des GARCONS PLAY x Converse sneakers, his hat, and his minimalist and versatile Becomb Infinity Piece. Among the other things he carries with him to keep him looking and feeling fresh are his assortment of lifestyle items as well as his copy of Dilla Donuts by J Dilla. All of these fit conveniently with his other essentials into his blue Herschel Market tote. Keeping it simple and functional, Roderick’s lack of clutter leaves him with much needed time to gather his thought and to focus on his passion.
