Andy Warhol may have been known for Cartier Tanks, but it seems that the artist also favored a few vintage pieces. Warhol’s Patek Philippe Ref. 2526 will be auctioned off on June 11 at Christie’s — the first time the timepiece has surfaced since the late ’80s, when it was included in an official sale of the Collection of Andy Warhol. Patek’s first automatic wristwatch, the Ref. 2526 was released sometime during the 1950s with features like the Caliber 12-600 AT, 18k yellow gold winding rotor and enamel dials. Warhol’s Ref. 2526 — which also contains a rare dial with Breguet numerals — is estimated to sell at a price of $20,000-$30,000 USD and includes Patek Phillipe papers dating from 1956.
