Barry McGee‘s body of work has been the subject of high praise, leading to recent exhibitions in both Fort Worth, Texas and presently, in Boston. McGee’s most recent show is up in the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, which showcases a vast array of the California-born artist’s paintings, sculptures and mixed media work. Visitors will encounter a heavy animation influence, installations that frequently reference graffiti through spray paint cans, and rich, detailed patterning throughout. Enjoy photos of the exhibition above, which runs at the ICA through September 2.
