The battle for the attention of a notoriously distracted generation rages on with Bill Gates and Microsoft planning to unveil the next generation Xbox 360 next month. The company sent out invitations to an event being held May 21, which will publicly present the console and, in its words, “Mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment.” This is serious stuff considering Sony’s announcement of the PlayStation 4, and with the amount of years and innovation behind both companies it only seems a matter of time before we’re all just riding around on light cycles vis-à-vis TRON. Rumors about the ‘Xbox 720’ – though hopefully it’s not actually named that – includes an always-online feature and revamped design. Be sure to check back for more information as it comes.
