Earlier last month, Feal Mor opened its space for what was the first of its planned annual football (soccer) exhibition. Known for its Brenton sailor sweater — or what the French call the “Pull Marin” — Feal Mor has continued to reinterpret the sweater and break traditions, venturing outside of the customary accepted realm of navy and white that the “Pull Marin” is so known for. With this year’s collection heavily inspired by vintage football — pulling cues from uniforms that date back to as early as the ’70s — we met up with JP Plunier of Feal Mor along with Chris Gibbs of Union Los Angeles to explore the concept further. As JP puts it, “Think Brazil ‘70, Holland vs Germany ‘74, Bayern Munich vs Saint Étienne ‘76 or the Arsenal of Charlie George. I’m sorry lads and lasses but it was never better.” Throughout the video, we explore the importance of nostalgia, rummage through some JP’s most cherished collectibles and learn a thing or two in foosball.
