Globe-Trotter’s celebrated craftsmanship is once again on show with a leather bag range dubbed the “Propellor” collection. For this grouping of carry-ons designer Charlotte McDonnell drew her inspiration from popular luggage pieces of the late 1800s through the 1930s, when travel was more about adventure and discovery. While the exterior is crafted from a water-repellant Limonta canvas twill with whiskey-colored bridle leather, the interior is lined with an ivory cotton herringbone material. McDonnell continued her tribute to the past with branding that was used in Globe-Trotter’s original 1912 catalog, combined with leather zip pull tabs that have been subtly twisted into the shape of a propeller blade. Available later this summer, consumers will have their choice of bags that includes an overnight, duffle, weekend and utility roll.
