A look into the future of computing technologies, Fujitsu has created an augmented reality touchscreen interface that seems, at first glance, to be something straight off of the likes of the USS Enterprise. Using a combination of cameras and projectors, the design allows for paper documents to be manipulated much like your prototypical touchscreen tablet – text and imagery can be highlighted, selected, and then saved and displayed virtually. Obviously, there is no set date for the consumer release of such a product, but the possibilities for future application are already clear from the display of the early prototype.
