Todd Kohlman, Burton‘s resident archivist, has seen the snowboard company grow from its humble beginnings to an iconic extreme sports mainstay. The brand has developed over the course of 30+ years, as have the shapes, sizes and graphic art on its boards. Kohlman took his expert perspective to highlight some of his favorite boards over the past few years, detailing the interesting stories behind each model. With great soliloquies on lawsuits, homages to Vermont, and the development of the first ‘twin’ model, this feature from Burton is a brief, yet essential read for the history of snowboarding.
