Legendary UK-based label Mo’Wax Records has released some images from its archive, documenting jovial times over the years. Under the leadership of a then-teenage James Lavelle, the label famously released albums by underground breakbeat and alternative artists such as UNKLE, South, DJ Shadow and Blackalicious. As a cornerstone in the establishment of not only modern music, but art (due to the label’s close ties with Futura) and fashion, Mo’Wax’s contribution cannot be overstated. These photos only depict a snippet of the label’s history, but do well to capture the pioneering spirit of Mo’Wax. Enjoy.
