Moncler and its Gamme Rouge line radically switch gears from the spring presentation to debut its 2013 fall/winter collection in Paris. Recent presentations from the brand have seen a full takeover of the spaces in which they are held and, in this case, designers transformed your run-of-the-mill runway into an arctic context to frame Gamme Rouge’s patchwork fur parkas, jackets and coats. Probably inciting more than a few complaints from PETA, the brand favored heavy, draping silhouettes composed of contrasting patterned fur. The choice of material gives the line a distinct, antiqued look and seems to oppose the more “technical” approach trending in outerwear today.
