Acclaimed young filmmaker Jake Davis took a trip to Marfa, Texas, the state’s hidden gem of art culture, while directing an upcoming campaign for a fashion label. While in Marfa, Davis documented the portrait-perfect sights of the town and presently reveals some of the shots from his visit. While the still, bare beauty of Marfa’s desert landscape is preserved, there’s something curious about its contrast with say, a Prada installation or a small, quaint fashion boutique that sells Rodarte. However, the art world’s obsession with the town makes for an interesting study, which Davis does well to capture in these photos.
