Like a thinly-veiled nod to his own success, Brandon Scott’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection for B:SCOTT is “inspired by men who have decided to create their own self worth, rather than depending on corporate America to define it.” And, like the designer himself, the label’s “Self Made Man” offering is far from conventional — or office-appropriate. A range of military-inspired pieces with a gothic edge, the sportswear-infused collection is anchored by outerwear in tech materials, leather and combo makeups in a palette of natural tones. A timely mix of tailored and slouchy, meanwhile, features throughout with blazers and shirting juxtaposed nicely against sweats in camo, heather grey and purple. Those intrigued by the collection can also catch the designer on Fashion Star, airing now on NBC.
