Y-3 2014 Spring/Summer Footwear Collection

With our initial look into Y-3‘s impending 2014 spring/summer footwear range we got a glimpse at the contemporary sneaker brand’s Qasa Racer model – an update to the 2013 Qasa High silhouette with added support features and a more breathable construction. Today, Yamamoto’s collaborative adidas line previews two new models that are expected to drop within the coming weeks to months at participating stockists around the globe. Unfortunately, we know very little about these two forthcoming drops, but we can definitely see Y-3’s signature forward-thinking approach to both the form and function of casual footwear. Just off appearance alone, it seems as if the brand chose to build the Qasa Racer upwards with a taller version that incorporates the same side support structure, whilst moving to a mostly leather build. The second sneaker we see screams conventionalism with its silhouette, yet its super comfortable mesh upper provides a bridge of sorts to modern design.
