Look: by now, its safe to say the audience is pretty familiar with Virgil Abloh. After dominating the blogosphere with his very polarizing designs, Abloh has just unveiled a preview of his newest brand, Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh. The brand, which will roll out for Spring/Summer 2014, expands on the logo-heavy motifs as seen with PYREX, yet will be completely cut and sewn in Italy and designed in-house. In many sense, the brand is a departure from previous ventures; Off-White meshes throwback grunge notions (“shabby chic” according to an interview with Style.com) with a bold sense of danger. The sports-style titling on shirt backs look more like an ironic warning label than branding, while old-school punk, street goth and streetwear all meet elsewhere in the collection. With retailers already furiously scribbling at their order forms, we’re sure to see a lot more from Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh leading up to its official release on January 31, 2014. Head over to the brand’s newly launched website to learn more.
