Germany’s Nürburgring motorsports complex was nicknamed “The Green Hell” by racing great Jackie Stewart for its 20.8 km course, with 154 turns and is widely touted as the most challenging race track in the world. Though the figures have yet to be confirmed, in 2004 Top Gear reported that it has claimed over 200 lives. As an automaker that constantly seeks new thrills and challenging tasks, McLaren ships its P1 sportscar to Germany with hopes of finishing the Nürburgring course in less than seven minutes – a feat Porsche was able to do with its 918 Spyder back in September. So, were they able to reach their goal? Have a look for yourself with the awesome footage featured above.
