For the fall of 2014, Thom Browne will be launching a brand new menswear line – Thom Browne New York – centered on the classic gray suit. The American designer will introduce a line of suits, shirts, coats and neckwear with proportions that are “slightly less extreme” than his typical runway showings that often display shrunken silhouettes. We’re told jackets will be more classic with longer lengths and wider lapels, and trousers will be hemmed to the shoe with no breaks. In reference to his new line, Browne went on to say that this line is targeted at a man “who likes the personality of my clothing, but wants a more classic proportion and fit.” Although it is a diffusion line under his flagship brand, this collection will still be made exclusively in the U.S. with suits starting at $2,200 USD and retailing at select high-end clothing stores. Be on the lookout for more details as we get closer to next year’s launch.
