Having continuously used his lyrics to emphasise his passion and enthusiasm for art, Jay Z took to Sotheby’s in Manhattan to add to his growing artwork lineup, this time picking up a piece from one of New York’s most iconic artists, Jean-Michel Basquiat. Having mentioned Basquiat’s work in his recent track “Picasso Baby” and posting a picture online of him standing beside a Basquiat piece alongside Jeezy, Hov’s latest Basquiat piece (pictured above) is titled Mecca and reportedly comes with a $4.5 million USD price tag.
