De Bethune — a relatively new watch brand founded by master watchmaker Denis Flageollet and watch expert David Zanetta — release a black version to its DB28, the winner of the 2011 ”Aiguille d’Or,” an accolade of the highest honor in the watchmaking industry. The case is machined from black zirconium due to the transition metal’s similarities to titanium and unique appearances depending on how light is shone on it. Featuring the signature crown at the 12 o`clock position and Star Trek bridge, the DB28 keeps with De Bethune’s quest for modern accuracy with classic horology by the use of the DB Calibre 2115. The self-regulating twin-barrel movement incorporates a silicon and palladium balance wheel, a triple pare-chute protection system, and is only off by a single day every 122 years.
