The Sea Project by Sperry Top-Sider is an ongoing series of projects driven by the wider public with the intention to explore the surf, sun and soul of the ocean. The 2013 project, #mypassionforthesea, was an Instagram-fueled photography and original artwork contest which was originally shown on the website several months ago. With over 10,000 images contributed from six continents and 37 countries, winning images were included in a public exhibition and a limited edition book. The exhibit took place at The Popular Workshop in San Francisco, California whereby 5,000 images were presented on a mural along with the Limited Edition Sea Project Book. The campaign, exhibition & Limited Edition Book was curated by The Fin Studio of Portland, Maine. Be sure to check out the hardcover chronicle of the project online at Sperry Top-Sider, with $5 of every purchase going to Ocean Conservancy.
