Rumor has it Nikon will be announcing a new full-frame DSLR camera very soon. The “Df” in Nikon DF stands for “Digital Fusion,” and this retro-styled beauty promises excellent picture quality for stills and no video recording function at all. Talk about old school. This is also not a mirrorless piece, but an interchangeable-lens camera with a mirrorbox and an optical viewfinder. Its vintage aesthetics are said to resemble Nikon’s old F3 film cameras from the ’80s, but its autofocus system is supposedly the same as the recent D610 with 39 points. Also, talk on the town is that the piece will sport settings for 1:1, 3:2 and 16:9 aspect ratios. Stay tuned to Nikon’s website for the Df’s big debut in November.
