London-based label Blood Brother presents a 2013 fall/winter collection inspired by the future. Introducing more sophisticated construction methods and fabrications, this collection is a clean reflection of sci-fi films and Dubai–the quintessential futuristic city of our times. In particular, a love for Star Wars films was instrumental in the design process which borrowed unabashedly from the ideas of George Lucas. Upholding the Lucas fantasy of derelict landscapes, desolate deserts and canyons (which somewhat parallels what is happening in our lifetime with the growth of Dubai), the season’s looks juxtaposes old and the new, dull and shiny, knit and leather. The resulting pieces are dark and edgy, with mismatched fabrics and unfinished hems. The collection features sleek leather jackets, hoods, sweatshirts and patterned knits in monochromatic shades.
