A Closer Look at the Upcoming KAWS Exhibition @ Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts
Not the one to rest on his laurels, KAWS continues to take his signature sculpture to new avenues
Not the one to rest on his laurels, KAWS continues to take his signature sculpture to new avenues of creativity. Having recently iterated the iconic Moonman trophy of the MTV VMA Awards, his latest venture returns to Pennsylvania — a city which previously saw the artist erect a 30-foot sculpture in Philadelphia’s 20th Street Station. Exhibiting at the renowned PAFA (Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts) gallery, the show brings together 60 of KAWS’s paintings and sculptures, with a nine-foot model positioned at the gallery’s entrance. With an array of artwork made exclusively for the show, Living Proof magazine has created a video preview of the forthcoming exhibition, set to run from October 12 to January 5, 2014.
