Polaroid looks to add to the budding market segment that offers mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with Wi-Fi connectivity through the release of the iM1836 Camera. Complete with a 10-30mm lens kit, additional hardware features include an 18.1MP sensor capable of 1080p video, a pop-up flash, Bluetooth, and a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD display. That’s still not it however, as the iM1836 will ship with a software package that consists of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is expected to assist users in sharing photos via social networks, as well as edit them on the fly through the multitude of apps in the Android marketplace. With a release scheduled for the early part of 2013, the Polaroid iM1836 Camera will likely retail for $399 USD. Alternatives also will include the Wi-Fi-only iM1232W and non-Wi-Fi iM1030 coming in at $349 USD and $299 USD respectively.
