Whether a small star tucked behind the ear or a long sleeve of ‘tribal designs’ around the forceps, every tattoo has a story (some more engaging than others). Part of what makes tattoos so attractive is that they symbolize a certain fearlessness–this notion remains as true today as it was in generations past. As time went on and tattoos became more socially acceptable, the art behind them was highlighted, and their importance brought to the public eye. Ink Stories is a series of short documentaries that highlight various tattoo artists and their inspirations. The third installment considers Rodrigo Souto, a Brazilian tattoo artist working in London. He draws influence from other creative ventures such as graffiti and, most recently, collages. Take a glimpse into Souto’s story with this brief clip, which explores the young artist’s work from all angles.
