Bottega Veneta‘s Fall/Winter 2013 collection, hitting the runway earlier today in Milan, emphasized the tension produced by racing against the clock. The seriousness of working life is highlighted by the highly muted palette, consisting mostly of tonal blacks and faded blues. Marked by an adherence to subtly updating classic fits such as the tailored suit, accessories such as buttons, and zippers on most of the offerings are de-emphasized. That being said, we do get some departures from the understated nature of the collection from faded tans, purples and salmon-colored suits.
