Not many people have the opportunity to look back and reminisce, or even partake in, childhood activities, but Sean Kenney – a Lego Certified Professional – just so happens to be one of those people. One of only 13 people in the world to have that designation from Lego, Mr. Kenney makes a living playing with Legos. At some point someone must have told him (and 12 others) to kindly focus on more practical career paths, but he has managed to take his hobby and turn it into his livelihood. Armed with a team of assistants, Mr. Kenney has managed to build several Lego monuments of his own – for instance a life-sized polar bear that took over 1,100 hours and 95,000 pieces.
In this Tumblr STORYBOARD feature, Mr. Kenney explains his love for Lego from his studio where we get to see several amazing constructions including an oversized toddler’s xylophone, a life-sized lamp, orchids, and even Homer Simpson. Here’s to hoping he doesn’t spend too much time prying Lego pieces apart.
