Micah Cohen‘s Shades of Grey collection for Spring/Summer 2013 was anything but monochromatic. The joyous, California-casual offering featured a kaleidoscopic array of prints and patterns — florals and bandana prints were thrown in together with subtly-hued ikats and animal patterns, tempered by basics in neutral tones. Borrowing heavily from streetwear, the silhouettes were relaxed and athletic — gym shorts, tanks, anoraks and varsity jackets — while suiting remained slim, youthful and casual. Deftly appropriate in the current mix-and-match menswear climate, Cohen — who has built his name on the artful intersection of familiar and fashionable — again displayed why Shades of Grey is one of the newer labels to watch.
