World-renowned Japanese photographer, Hiroshi Sugimoto has created 140 limited edition scarves for Hermès as part of the “Couleurs de l’ombre” exhibition at Museum der Kulturen in Switzerland. Sugimoto is constantly exploring the resources of ancestral crafts in order to develop an inventive dialogue between history, traditions, and a contemporary mode of expression that is very much at one with Hermès’ own philosophy. Presented as Polaroid photographs translated to silk, this 10-year exploration proudly exhibits brilliant yellows, radiant reds, rich greens and rich blue hues.
