The road to a satisfying career in the fashion industry is one often less traveled, complete with unwelcoming detours and a hefty amount of road rage. Chris Corrado, the current Show Director of peripatetic tradeshow Capsule, has certainly had his share of road-trip checkpoints that has taken him up and down the east coast before landing at at one of menswear’s most extensive international shows. After stints on the corporate side of a few mass market fashion giants like Abercrombie & Fitch, Chris joined fashion consultant agency BPMW some nine years ago to launch a sales showroom to complement their already booming public relations and events practice. With a knack for uncovering emerging trends, the New England native soon stocked his showroom with some of the most exciting and influential men’s apparel and accessories brands, including Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, Gloverall, Mismo, and Norse Projects. Following years of exhibiting around the world, Chris was part of the original team at BPMW that launched Capsule looking to showcase the emerging market of progressive and directional menswear. Now that capsule has a full calender of shows traveling from Las Vegas to Berlin as well as a newly formed women’s show, the marketing genius now spends most of his days scouring the globe for the best new brands to keep his team’s exhibit as fresh and innovative as its first show five years ago. In another installment to our Essentials series, Chris Corrado unloads his carry-on to display his everyday must-haves and favorite personal goods.
